Net Control Sign Up
Click here to sign up to be Net Control for our Thursday evening net on the Monte Vista and Alamosa linked repeaters. You can use the “SARA Net-NCS Guidelines” link above to help you navigate through being Net Control. Our K0SLV repeaters are usually hooked into the SkyHub Linked Repeater System. If you are new at being an NCS and would like, we can easily disconnect from the linked repeater system, prior to our net. Just let any club officer or director know, and we’ll take care of it .
License & Testing Information
The San Luis Valley Amateur Radio Association offers testing for everyone interested in either obtaining their license or upgrading to a higher license class. Testing is typically offered every 3 months, in January, April, July and October. The exams are typically held after the monthly meeting, starting no later than 12:00PM. It is recommended that you arrive 15-20 minutes early to get registered. There is a $15 fee to take your exam, that is passed through to the ARRL. As of April 19, 2022, the FCC has instituted a new $35 application fee. “The $35 application fee applies to new, renewal, rule waiver, and modification applications that request a new vanity call sign.
